Using the new Starboard 14'8" Point board John set a new record for rounding Brownsea Island in 57mins
30 Secs. Taking advantage of the perfect conditions John Knocked almost 10 minutes off the previous
record. Sunday saw a set of two short sprint races in front of over 3,000 spectators and visitors to
the event site. Both of these races were won by John, using a combination of the 14'8" and the Starboard
11'2".
John says:
"Saturday's perfect windless conditions made for a perfect circumnavigation of Brownsea Island. It was
great to be paddling around such a picturesque island while enjoying the competitiveness of the race.
It was good to see a bunch of new faces competing at the event. Sunday's spectator friendly racing was
good and sprinting up the beach to the finish line in front of the spectators was a great feeling."
Next stop on the SUP tour is the Wight Air contest next weekend. John is leading the Endurance rankings
and is ranked 3rd in the Surf division, so the final two events will be decisive. keep an eye on
